	Every home registered with the program must meet the BGNM programs minimum criteria. These criteria, known as the Scoring Tool which is based directly on the ANSI National Green Building Standard (NGBS), i . Under the NGBS there are 4 levels that can be attained; Bronze, Silver, Gold and the highest Emerald.  Only those homes registered and certified within the BGNM program will receive a "certified" designation. Informing and educating the home-buying public on the value of a home that meets Build Green NM standards is one of the primary undertakings of the program. Build Green NM participants recognize the opportunity, responsibility and necessity, both from the industry perspective, and from the individual builder's perspective to build higher performing homes.
